Salih Cengiz
Bio
Born in 1980, I’m raised in a little fisherman’s town on the West coast of Turkey. At the age of 17, I moved to Istanbul to study Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at Yıldız Technical University. In 2002, I met my Danish wife at an archaeological excavation in Bodrum, ancient Halikarnassos. Two years later I moved to Copenhagen, where I have lived ever since.
Four years ago, I took a break from my career to study at the Danish Art School of Photography, Fatamorgana. In 2017 I worked at Magnum photographer Jacob Aue Sobol's studio as an intern. Photography has always been my passion, and I now spend all my time improving my skills as a photographer.
